What version of the widget are you using (vanillajs, vue, react)? The comment widget does not change the current thread automatically - you have to call it to update the current page. This is documented in our Vue/React components as those are targeted toward SPAs. If you're using the VanillaJS widget we'll have to see if there's documentation for that.
