Do off-brand third party filters for the Levoit 600s perform as well? On Amazon, they sell for about half the price. I am tempted to buy because the filters are a bit pricey. What are your thoughts? Do they perform as well? Might be an interesting experiment.

Again you say that because the filter is bonded, you will "need" to replace it when the carbon is full. My guess is that if I care much more about particle filtration, then I could continue to use it for this purpose, but your phrasing makes me wonder if that's not true.

Problem is that the carbon will start to smell at some point so its hard to keep using the particle filtration due to this. Ive heard from some readers who managed to cut out the carbon element but this is a little annoying.

When that red light notification filer comes on for this unit, is it because the carbon filter has reached it end of life but the particle filter still has more life? Thank you for all that you do!

I would look into the Levoit EverestAir has the same app and less noisy and the sound has a better tone to it thanks to the different design

Its a little pricier but does drop during sales.

My latest review: Levoit EverestAir review
and Youtube review.
