This is true but first pass filtration grade of HEPA isn't required for effective air cleaning. The best metric to look at is CADR which can allow you to calculate air changes per hour in your space.

I go into a little detail here: How we test air purifiers

Sorry to hear about you receiving the used Levoit 300S. I am not able to record at very low sound levels so I have background of 32 dB . I would expect it’s close to Levoit measurement as they don’t overstate the high fan speed.nnThe Vital 200S doesn’t come with any ionizer only those saying plasma will use an ionizer. nnHope that helps! Let me know you need more info.

Hi. nI am not sure if my English is clear enough, but i`ll try.nThank you for your perfect review. It helps me to decide which air purifier to choose. Thank you for you effort to do all this for us.I appreciate, that you are ad-free and focused on helping people. Thanks for that. For some kind of reason i liked LEVOIT company, so i ordered LEVOIT 300S. Suddenly it comes used, yeah, they send me used product, filter was open, hair inside the purifier... So i did sent them back that purifier. After i was looking for another purifier, but i did not know which one. And then i found you and your great web site. I decide go for Levoit Vital 200S. Just one question. How many dB in night mode (24)? What about ionizer,is it save to use it? Produce any ozone? Thanks nSincerely from Slovakian

I am currently working on some tests for the smaller Core 300 comparing performance with PureBurg and the Levoit OEM filters. I still need to run all the tests but performance at least for the Core 300 are very similar with the non OEM filters. There might be differences such as carbon quality that will need more investigation. nnWe do want to do more long term tests and have a number of units in continual usage but it's hard to scale this for every device we review - currently. After the whole situation of Levoit removing the term HEPA from their filters, I doubt there will be big difference between the OEM or Generic filters but I do want to do a lot more tests before I can confirm that.

Hi, thanks for the review.nDo you have any 3rd party filter recommendations? I have seen in other filters (IE Coway Airmega) the quality and efficiency can vary widely, and even vary year to year within the same 3rd party brand.nIs it possible to share the CADR and clean times for the system running at level 2 or 3, which might be more practical volume-wise?nIs there testing ongoing to verify the claim that the filter is still working just as well after 11 months of continual use as it was when new?
