My 13 year old dog kept licking her lips all the time especially at night. I tried a teaspoon of olive oil. Put it on a plain cookie on a saucer. She ate the cookie and licked all the oil from saucer. It was her first night not licking/ smacking her lips. She drank a lot of water as a rule so I don't think it was dehydration. Anyway. The olive oil worked like a treat for her,! I can't believe that this issue has been resolved so easily! She is much better now while sleeping and so am I. Anyone with senior dogs licking constantly should give olive oil a try!
