Still early for those predictions , it will depend on the weather forecast (rain and temperatures). This crop it´s been really poor in Spain and this issue matters to establish the worlwide olive oil pricess around the world

Hi Santiago, thanks for reading. The USDA publishes these preliminary estimates based on predicted climate, historical data and other relevant information. It will continue to update them overtime. Still, it is useful to have an initial figure to compare how the season evolves against expectations. I'd be very interested to learn more about the situation in Spain. In Tunisia too, no way we will produce the 250 thousand he mentioned because there was no rain at all only the last few days which is too late. If the crop is poor in Spain as you mentioned and i don't think Italy is different, i think we will have another poor season 😢probably worst than last year.
