This was such a good podcast and I loved hearing the example dialogues. I found it very interesting how at the end you started talking about how LDS (members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) pro-life people believe in the rape exception. I'm LDS and I firmly believe that abortion in the case of rape is wrong. That doesn't mean that our leaders are not inspired by *** and aren't teaching truth, it just means that they (as imperfect human beings) make mistakes. But honestly it drives me crazy when LDS people advocate for abortion in the case of rape because I believe the actual stance of our Church is that there may be exceptions, but that "even these circumstances do not automatically justify an abortion." It really surprises me that those LDS people you were speaking to were pushing back against you with such vigor. Also, I'm curious; when you said that you showed them an hour long documentary "against Mormonism," were you talking specifically about abortion in the case of rape, or against "Mormonism" as a whole. The latter doesn't seem like it is really relevant to this dialogue. I'm just curious what you meant by this.
It was a documentary that arguably makes a strong argument against Mormonism, specifically related to the Book of Abraham. I'm pretty sure this is the video: https://youtu.be/hcyzkd_m6KE
