One point I'd like to add is that having researched the history of court opinions, the changes for the worse that we decry did not occur in a giant all-or-nothing steps. Even Roe was built on previous cases (Connecticut vs something, 1965). So, if an incremental strategy is an effective way to change things one way, it can also be an effective way to change it the other way.
