Very interesting article but, I'm reading it from a secular point of view and so none of the arguments used in this exchange are arguments I could possibly make. BUT this same conversation is still useful for me in a couple of ways. For starters, the use of a calming voice is a great bit of advice, one that can also be translated for a calmer method even in online debates where we don't hear each other at all.
The other way is... although I'm not a believer in any religion, the same arguments can still be made even without Jesus as the example. Anyone can cite the behaviors that work over the ones that don't. In other words, if the things Jesus did and said were good and true, then those things were also good and true even before his existence. We should be able to come to that sort of wisdom and kindness on our own.
I wonder what Monica Snyder of Secular Pro-Life would think about this?
