The biggest problem is apathy back in Latin America most people are adopting a "not my problem" so that is why is harder to organize. We should warn them of the horrors of proabortion laws specially shaming poor women for daring to be mothers and the large amount of rapes, sexual pressure by males to have sex without condoms or to abandon and coerce vulnerable women into abort and sex trafficking that will be concealed if this laws pass.

Very interesting and important . An actual situation to take care.
This kind of articles have to be more diffuse.
Thanks

Thank you very much! I hope to be able to talk about this issue in another article, so far abortion is criminalized in Peru and no bill has been voted in Congress. Let's hope that this situation will be maintained in this new government.

Central America has the most Draconian abortion restrictions in the world. Women are literally being imprisoned for miscarriages.

I personally believe that abortion, being the murder of a human being, is a homicide that should be condemned thru the rule of law. Therefore, such restrictions help to prevent abortion from being seen as a good thing. Instead of being recognized as a right, Central american laws point out that it is bad behavior for society. It is worth noting that, despite of these restrictions, women are not normally imprisoned for having an abortion. Moreover, there have been cases in which mothers have killed their children after birth and for this they have been sentenced. Unfortunately, some of them are camouflaged as abortions to generate controversy, such as the case of Imelda Cortez in El Salvador.

Where's your proof? I Googled the story and, from all the sources I can find, she is a victim of rape who had a complication during her pregnancy, in which she was bleeding excessively, causing her to give birth in a toilet. Furthermore, they also found her when she passed out.

She concealed the pregnancy with the intention of killing her baby, which she then tried to do by throwing her into the septic tank of her home after cutting her umbilical cord. Those are the facts you can find in any source related to her name. I invite you to read this information https://vidasv.org/las17/. Here they explain the details of every case of homicide in El Salvador that has been passed off as abortion when in reality the mothers have killed their children after they were born asphyxiated with faecal matter, stabbed, drowned, etc. I'm sorry it's in Spanish but I'm sure you can easily translate it online.

The contrast in the first picture says it all, I think. There's also a certain very famous pro-life Argentinean that should be a huge asset given his popularity in the region. Unfortunately he seems to think the Traditional Latin Mass is a bigger threat than abortion, so he's largely stayed on the sidelines and offered only token opposition to Argentina's new law. Quite tragic.

Hi Navi, as you say, just by looking at the photos and the marches you can tell a big difference. I would like to know who is the Argentinean you are talking about, there are many: Agustin Laje, Nicolas Marquez, Lupe Batallan, etc.
