Great article, Paul. I am a big fan of Asana. I used it extensively at the digital marketing agency I was at. As a team, we loved it. I have considered using it for my personal to-dos, but as you point out, using something else like Apple Reminders (or in my case, Todoist) for the personal simple stuff might be easier. Whenever I'm working with a team however, Asana would be my first choice. Also, all of the integrations are great, such as Google Drive and Dropbox.

Thanks! I'm using it to plan things like blog posts, updates on my site etc... I find it's a really great tool for listing everything you need to do to make progress towards completing a project. But I'm the same, I still use Apple Reminders or Swipes for my day to day reminders.

Great post! I am one of those people that use Asana for everything I do - my career/work tasks, blogs and websites I maintain, side projects, personal/at home stuff and more! One way I use Asana, which I believe is a little different is to track all birthdays and anniversaries. These are stored in a "Birthdays & Events" project in my Personal Projects workspace and each task is set to repeat yearly. I can then track gift ideas and the like right there in the one place! And the following year, I can go back to past events to recap on those ideas and remember exactly what happened. This is just one of the examples that Mike Vardy and I present in the book and program we developed on Asana, using Asana... Do Better With Asana. For anyone that is intrigued by Paul's brilliant post here and wants to learn more about everything Asana and what it can do for you, come check out http://dobetterwithasana.com

Thanks for sharing Jeremy. That's a really cool idea. Buying gifts is one of those things I tend to leave to the last minute and I can see how this would help a lot! We should collaborate on some guest posting on each of our sites if you're keen?
