It is very easy to set up PocketSmith and get started with it. All you need is a few minutes of time and an internet connection. The app offers a wide range of features, which will help you stay on top of your finances same features of MoolahMore Budgeting App

When I have reached my monthly savings goal. Even though it lacks some of the features that other personal finance apps, such as MoolahMore and investing, it does what it promises and is simple to use.

Paul, I enjoyed the podcast and I have looked at everything on the Pocketsmith website. I currently use Moneydance on my Mac and I like it except for a few things. I am really intrigued by what I am seeing with Pocketsmith, but the cost is what is holding me back. I would have to have the Super version because I track so many different accounts from checking, savings, investments, my kids investment accounts, my retirement accounts, etc. On the Pocketsmith website it says that the Super version is 19.95 a month but 14.12 a month if billed annually and I know that you have an affiliate link. I am just struggling to justify to myself about $169 expense for Pocketsmith vs. paying a one time fee for Moneydance. Help me see the value of something that I will have to continually pay for... Thanks Terry Lange

Hi Terry, I completely understand and I was also hesitant at first. For me, the value I get from having this level of insight, it's well worth it. But I would say that if you do sign up, you'll want to go pretty deep into the different features e.g. budgets, forecasting etc. to get enough value from the tool.

Hi Paul. Another great podcast. I always enjoy your recordings. On this occasion you did contrast Pocketsmith to leading alternatives such as Quicken and YNAB. Do you (or might another listener) have comments to share in this regard. I have Quicken (Canada) on Windows for a couple of years now. It is ok, but only ok. In particular the categorization of expenses is very time consuming. I am separately not very impressed with their reports. Is PocketSmith notably superior? If I were to open a trial (free) account, is there a way to make use of the affiliate link at a later date, and have it apply to the trial account that create today? Thank you again for your consideration.

Hi Joseph, thanks glad you enjoyed the episode. As I understand it, Quicken is more for business accounting, correct? Whereas Pocketsmith is more for tracking personal finances. I guess you could use it for business but an accounting tool may have more features that are needed for things like calcualting taxes etc. I'm not sure if you can use the discount later. Perhaps reach out to Pocketsmith support to see what they can offer? But I imagine if you sign up for free then pay later it may still work just not entirely sure.
