Thanks for your article on this site. From my own personal experience, occasionally softening up a photograph could provide the wedding photographer with a dose of an artistic flare. Many times however, the soft clouds isn't precisely what you had in your mind and can in many cases spoil a normally good photograph, especially if you consider enlarging that.
