UPSHS is where I graduated in 2012 & to be frank, we lacked so many facilities then & even now. The boys dorm which was under construction came to a halt for no reasons to us (the student) & girls dorm was inadequate for all ladies admited to the school. A school which was 100% owned by UCC became 50% government owned and 50% UCC (private) yet, we were looked down upon by both entities till date. Management of the school never treated us fair as well & I wonder why government & GES will think students and parents will have a smoother admission at such a school. While people are proud of the alma mater, am heartbroken cause we luck the facilities that aid in a quality education as the government desires. FREE SHS is good but to a school where I attended, it's another hell given to us. I wish the government and other NGOs will attend to this plea of mine for alma mater cos we are in a silent pain. Hahahaha hahahaha my school is in the news ooo. During our time back in 1994-1996 there were no hostels. Student from Accra, Kumasi lived in hostels around kakomdo etc. And struggle to come to school each day. Let's all the authorities find a lasting solution to this problem. I entered UPSHS in 2014 and had to go to a private hostel. In form 2 we were told that a new building was being built to accommodate students but am now a UPOSA and there is nothing to be said about the building. During our 40th speech & prize giving day which was last year, we were told that the school is in the process of belonging to UCC to make it a private school. Why? Because the government hadn't done anything to improve the school. But I hope that this problem will be dealt with, be it by the government or UCC to help the school progress.
