I tried installing fastcomments into my react 18.2.0 app but the package has dependencies that are outdated or have vulnerabilities that are incompatible with the latest versions of React and its ecosystem (React 18, Webpack 5, etc.). The fact that installing fastcomments-react leads to a potential downgrade of core libraries like react-scripts to much older versions (such as 3.0.1) is a serious concern, as it could expose my app to security vulnerabilities and bugs. could you update fastcomments' dependencies so that it plays well with the newer versions of react and web pack?
Note that the library already uses the latest react (18) and react-scripts (5). The library actually has no dependencies, the only deps that should affect you are peer dependencies which your app can define.
That was super fast, Devon! Yes, I was drafting an email to support as you suggested until I decided to give up on the whole commenting system altogether. Thank you so much for updating dependencies to work with react-scripts@5.0.1 and webpack@6.5.1! When I downgraded both, my react app broke and I had to remove nodes and reinstall. This is amazing.
